ibodyWALK announces the New Poles & Program
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

unnamed

The Villages, Florida – ibodyWALK is excited to announce the prelaunch to continue with free training sessions that introduce ibodyWALK to the residents’ and promises to “Takes Your Walking to the Next Level”. In early 2014 the need to reintroduce Pole Walking to the U.S. with a name that made visual sense has led Terry D Kennedy the Founder to the ibodyWALK branding. Think about Walking with the addition of easy to use equipment (a set of walking poles and the strength/stretch cords that retract for storage in to the poles or a fanny pack), and the programming that will cover specific participant technical needs, whether that be for improving ones health, fitness or sports. Until now there has been limited public awareness and participation in the U.S. for pole walking which he determined needed several evidence-based initiatives to succeed.

Kennedy of IbodyWALK had previously invested several years with the Foot Solutions franchise which sold the Balance Walking pole brand. During this time he successfully led the Pole Walking Prevention Magazine Publisher study, by recruiting, educating and introducing virtual coaching in an eight week study resulting in the sale of 1000s of walking poles. At the same time he initiated an independent research study at Kennesaw State University / Balance Walking Increases the Physiological Responses to Walking. This research was published as it concluded key benefits; one of which was, that with the addition of walking poles, higher levels of conditioning over regular walking at same pace will be an outcome. These initiatives; and the walking pole partnership with Gymstick (located in Finland), and the patented pole design, will further ibodyWALKs’ Pole and Program success.

The journey and free introduction of Pole Walking to the residents’ in The Villages, under the brand Balance Walking began at the end of January thru May 2013 and grew from 30 to 500 residents walking with poles. That growth can be attributed to The Villages Recreation Department announcements and articles in The Villages Daily Sun Newspaper. To direct others in meeting other walkers Terry created the Walking Neighbor Directory. That has led to many groups, one of which was named the “Wacky Walkers”. To date the growing interest in health and fitness has made ibodyWALK a natural fit to meet demand for the wellness walking trend. He believes all that keeps the body in motion throughout ones day is paramount “Take Your Walking to the Next Level” with ibodyWALK.

100s have shared comments like these; using the poles and cords has improved my endurance, feels less strenuous than other cardio workouts, I feel more muscles working comfortably harder and, therefore, burn more calories, the poles absorb shock to my feet, knees, hips and back.
It’s EASY!! Fitness Poles + Freehand + Stretch-cord Exercises designed for 8 to 80 plus.

Engagement that Works Walks and Talks

Let me begin by saying; as a health, fitness and sports professional for over 40 years I have experienced by way of educating, innovation, coaching, promoting and mentoring countless, that we are about to make a significant shift in the way we educate, deliver, engage and sustain desirable health and fitness for everyone. I of course am not anti health club, anti sports, anti coach, anti anything with good intentions that will improve health and fitness safely. In fact, I am all about the solutions that match today’s reality, which seem to change almost daily – one would think.

We as a society are trying to keep up with the next best thing, experience or product… Technology, the Speed of Thought required today and our Human Nature are looking to mesh in a way that balances the scale for a better life for everyone… Being able to do, be and have more by using countless technology drivers is not better, when it’s at the expense of you – the human seeking a full quality of life ).

We have to do some things that will seem a little off the wall to some, yet as my experience as been privileged to be part of the several of greatest trends relative to health and fitness in my 40 years in this space. Some are products, some are activities. A couple that I believe will be headed that way soon I will briefly touch on…

Yes, ibodyWALK is not meant to be another come and go product and program. What will make it more desirable is the multiplier that comes to everyone everyday to their walking. If we move to the Jetson’s age we may stand or sit and be moved from here to there in a blink. I hope not, as I want to experience physical stimulus and interaction with others. The purpose of ibodyWALK is to engage as close to a simple movement that we all use to go from point a to b (without transportation modalities – bikes, cars, etc ) and that is by WALKING.

Here a great motivating infographic in the link below:

The other area will be in how we sit, at work, home and leisure. This next space will come quick, and in fact has already arrived in some places. Trust me here; it’s not a fad. I am engaged with several potential partnerships that are going beyond the initial desk and treadmill at work or at the home office. There are as I speak – innovations that will encompass this next trend and beyond. Don’t be turned off by what it appears to be today as this will change to accommodate the greatest number of users.

Here is a quick news report – keep workers moving . There are countless video’s over the past few years showing early adopters engaged.

Are you ready to Move for Health & Fitness like never before?

I wanted to include another great addition to the future of health/fitness in the work/home office and classroom settings. This focus area will be highly successful as the need can be handled very easily by Walking, while you’re Standing, balanced with time Sitting. Really! The best part is it will impact one’s work productivity, one’s health, one’s motivation and much more in an incredibly positive ways. This will become as important as the development of the PC was to technology on our lives. We will work, balance health and fitness physically in the same moment in time.

Ron Wiener – CEO of Thermo Genisis Group wrote a recent article that will begin to paint the picture of the future – The Next Revolution in Office Fitness: Sit-Stand Conference Tables

Mr. Wiener’s purpose and vision is umbrella-ed in the ThermoGenisis Group with its motivation to reverse the effects of the “sitting disease” among millions of modern-day workers whose jobs entail many hours of sedentary inactivity, typically in front of a computer, in a scalable way – is in my professional opinion leading the way, in fact all the way. They are building on much more than the current offerings which includes the ground floor WorkWhileWalking and iMoveR. I anticipate as well that the ThermoGenisis Group is positioned and clearly on track to make many more contributions whether this is at work, home or even in classrooms of the future. As an active contributor & participant myself of the largest trends in Health & Fitness Industry over the past 40 years I am flat out excited at what is to come. A solution like this which will improve your health and fitness outside of the traditional methods will become a well timed life changing trend.

In conjunction with today’s traditional Corporate Wellness programs; which are made up of many vendors providing employees a multitude of avenues, with the hoped for Healthier Employee. I foresee that visiting sources such as WorkWhileWalking with reviews and resources to be a first stop in determining the next step. The ease at which one can Walk or Stand intermittently during an average 8 plus hour work day will be a trend that grows because of the positive employee results.

On a personal note: I am active with one of the largest wellness companies in the world as a spouse of an employee. They provide the same programming, support and benefits to me in order to reduce our family’s health insurance needs and cost. I remain hopeful with the programming offerings, yet know that to compartmentalize my work day in to Fitness, Nutrition and other programming comes with challenges. So of course it makes sense to add this new product area in to a partnership.

My conclusion: This emerging workplace product movement trend will be adopted quickly by these wellness vendors as the benefits reinforce their clients’ success. The office and classroom work day of the future will become an intuitive environment that envelops the human experience with technology for improving ones health and fitness right where you walk, stand and sit.

The human body hungers Movement throughout the day for better health.

ibodyWALK Core – Kayak Pole Crunch

Great core work…

– This is a beginner move when you sit with feet on the ground while nearly sitting straight up and then paddling slowly.

– This is an intermediate move ( as shown in video ) when you sit with feet on the ground while leaning/pivoting backwards at waist, with back flat ( no slumping, head back as well – neutral ) and paddling slowly in order to maintain a steady balance point ( which moves very slightly and engages the core ).

– This is an advanced move by simply initiating the intermediate movements with additional backwards lean/pivot. Always stop repetitions when you feel the form begin to deteriorate. Less with great form in multiple sets is best

While all the construction is going on at ibodyWALK I thought we would continue to insert pre-production work from time to time. This will include content, images or videos. Get Walking! Got Poles? Looks Silly? Wrong!

onw-passion

… Let me say it again;

Get Walking! Got Poles? OK, Looks Silly? Wrong!

Athletes, Non Athletes, Health Challenged, Motivated or Not

LET’S MOVE.

I have collected 1000s of images such as the image above which are from around the world. Having shared with other industry colleagues like “Marko” (pictured center) who have led the growth of pole walking/nordic walking in their own countries and beyond. Marko resides in Finland and has been highly successful in leading the way for some time. The interest has now become a focal point now in the U.S. as we continue to experience continued emphasis on the importance of walking.

With ibodyWALK we will gravitate away from a one demographic mind set or stereotype one might suspect when you see others walking with poles. The key difference and the reason for the continued growth in the program with poles is simply in the ways the poles and tubing are being used. That key factor has drawn others who may not initially be interested in to wanting to be part of the experience and results.

This is not meant to be a promotional post, simply educational. Taking Your Walking to the Next Level is critical I believe in order to increase the numbers of walkers. I might add that we are getting away from the idea that one has to move all in one 30-60 minute session. To integrate motion that increases pulse, puts a safe load on bones/joints and increases muscle strength can all happen in 5-15min periods.

So join the MOVE while you TALK and WALK at your next meeting 😉
