ibodyWALK Core – Kayak Pole Crunch

Great core work…

– This is a beginner move when you sit with feet on the ground while nearly sitting straight up and then paddling slowly.

– This is an intermediate move ( as shown in video ) when you sit with feet on the ground while leaning/pivoting backwards at waist, with back flat ( no slumping, head back as well – neutral ) and paddling slowly in order to maintain a steady balance point ( which moves very slightly and engages the core ).

– This is an advanced move by simply initiating the intermediate movements with additional backwards lean/pivot. Always stop repetitions when you feel the form begin to deteriorate. Less with great form in multiple sets is best

While all the construction is going on at ibodyWALK I thought we would continue to insert pre-production work from time to time. This will include content, images or videos. I you have questions or are interested in programing for a particular area, please reach out to me at  your convenience.

Get Walking! Got Poles? Looks Silly? Wrong!

onw-passion

… Let me say it again;

Get Walking! Got Poles? OK, Looks Silly? Wrong!

Athletes, Non Athletes, Health Challenged, Motivated or Not

LET’S MOVE.

I have collected 1000s of images such as the image above which are from around the world. Having shared with other industry colleagues like “Marko” (pictured center) who have led the growth of pole walking/nordic walking in their own countries and beyond. Marko resides in Finland and has been highly successful in leading the way for some time. The interest has now become a focal point now in the U.S. as we continue to experience continued emphasis on the importance of walking.

With ibodyWALK we will gravitate away from a one demographic mind set or stereotype one might suspect when you see others walking with poles. The key difference and the reason for the continued growth in the program with poles is simply in the ways the poles and tubing are being used. That key factor has drawn others who may not initially be interested in to wanting to be part of the experience and results.

This is not meant to be a promotional post, simply educational. Taking Your Walking to the Next Level is critical I believe in order to increase the numbers of walkers. I might add that we are getting away from the idea that one has to move all in one 30-60 minute session. To integrate motion that increases pulse, puts a safe load on bones/joints and increases muscle strength can all happen in 5-15min periods.

So join the MOVE while you TALK and WALK at your next meeting 😉

ibodyWALK Logo and Branding ( wants to here from you )

red white blue with ibodywalk tm 4200 x 1100 aprox

What happened before my one minute pitch during the Shark Tank interview for the show was clear to me that we are on track to break the stereotype that most think of when they see someone walking with poles. The change is here to overcome the stereotype whether you walk or do not with poles. There is so much more and with that the rising tide of participation in the U.S. raises all ships 😉

I presented to a seasoned Fitness Professional who saw these images above before I pitched my ideas. He said; “no need to say anything, I get it, in fact I see poles out here in Santa Monica, California a lot. Really was not attracted to doing it myself, as I am a runner. Yet these images add something that gives me more and opens up to doing it with others anywhere….”

If you have an opinion, of course give me what you like and do not like, or what you hope for to grow ibodyWALK…

Reviewing a few branding options in the header and this post – Which one do you like, or not. If you have an idea for one, please send it to my email at tkennedy@ibodywalk.com

ibodyWALK Situp with Upright Row (under construction)

From time to time I will place random video and image content while under construction. I am working hard to complete each of the 3 ibodyWALK focus areas. These of course will be in Health – Fitness & Sport, of which there will be many levels in order to accommodate the unlimited demographic I am seeking. If you have an area of interest you would like to request – please do 😉 And if you would like to contribute with me in areas of programming, product or future population groups that interest you – please do 😉 Maybe you want to be on the idea side, and that is of course welcomed – please do 😉

A sneak peak at some roughs below

This one is an image of a portion of a ibodyWALK Situp with Upright Rows work for the Heath,Fitness or Sport.

I took hundreds of images that I will cull through to incorporate in to the Heath – Fitness or Sports programing for all demographics – that will be the first in my industry this has been under taken.

Do you have interest in learning more about the launch or being included in many of our images or videos at ibodyWALK – then give me a shout…

Your Doctor, Physical Therapists, Coaches or Neighbors would no doubt want to learn more and that I would be happy to forward on to you.

ibodyWALK will benefit from the Health Technology Revolution

thevitalityinstitute.orgdisney

Be ready for Technology to continue to advance to connect, direct and provide desired outcomes in health and fitness intuitively( mindlessly ) virtually daily. All the tools including ibodyWALK will hope to utilize universally the pathway that our Technology leads… The larger problem will be as the ideas and real solutions come to market, almost instantly we will be bombarded with the next greatest technology to deliver results. Too many choices…

The Poles themselves and the modifications ( evolutionary advancements ) will occur in spite of the delivery tool which stimulates/triggers one to move, educates, motivates, monitors, rewards, etc. and then begins again… And that’s just for starters.

Great article with a company I hope collaborate in the near future – http://thevitalityinstitute.org/disney-and-technology-where-dreams-of-better-health-come-true/#sthash.F3hS15YA.88HfWs75.dpbs

Kaiser Permanente recommends Walking…we will add ibodyWALK

With ibodyWALK everyone in every demographic will be able “Take Your Walking to the Next Level” This is an exciting time 😉 I like to say a; “I remember when walking was for only a few….”

This is a great video with a quick list of reasons to simply to Walk. I will be creating a video in time that expresses why putting  ibodyWALK in to your step every day is happily a priority.

Walking is a low-impact exercise accessible to just about everybody. It’s safe, simple, and doesn’t cost anything. George Halvorson, Chairman & CEO of Kaiser Permanente, explains the numerous health benefits of a regular walking regime: reduced risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. Physical activity need not be strenuous for an individual to reap significant health benefits; just 30 minutes a day (or two 15 minute sessions) of brisk walking will do the trick.

The beauty of adding the Poles and Stretch-cords to Walking are so numerous… They simply out number the reasons not get started today. When you can almost double the effect of regular walking, why would you wait…
